A full day.  Made the drive from Philly to Williamsport.  Was headed over to the LLWS when the weather looked iffy, so I went and ate the Bullfrog Brewery.  I hit it just right.  After the weather moved through, I made the pilgrimage to South Williamsport.  Saw most of three games.  One 11-0 blowout, one 6-1, and the last 1-0.  The last game was the last picture posted.  One of the teams playing is the first local team to make it to the series since 1969.  They are from Clinton County, which is just under 30 miles away.  It led to a record crowd of over 41,800--more people than have been at most of the MLB games I've been to on this journey!  Everyone was in a blue shirt that said "Keystone", the name of the Little League these kids come from.  Everyone except the 150 people from Kentucky.  I just happened to wear blue.  I had no clue what was going on.

I've been wanting to come here for as long as I can remember.  It's a pretty slick place.  The stadiums are very nice.  There was just Howard J. Lamade Stadium for the longest time.  They added Volunteer Stadium directly next to it not too long ago.  Food used to be dirt cheap here, but it's still much cheaper than the MLB parks.  $2 water.  $2 dogs.  You can even get a Subway club.  I had a specialty roast beef sandwich tonight.  I guess I forgot to take a picture of it.  I'll try the dog tomorrow...all of which looked grilled so far.

My goal for now is to try to get a ticket to sit in the stands during the championship game, which takes place a week from Sunday.  Anyone can go.  It's all free.  But, to get into the stands you have to have a free ticket.  I entered and had others enter the lottery to get a ticket but no luck.  I ran into some locals at the brewery I ate lunch at.  The lady knows some councilman, and she's going to see if he can't fix me up.  That'd be awesome...we'll see what happens.  Games start at noon tomorrow.  I feel like I'm at my version of Disney World.

You can catch just about all the games on the various ESPN networks.  Watch some!  You will learn a lot about Little League and what it's all about.  It may not be perfect, but it's as close to pure baseball as you can get!
