Trip Overview

I'll finish up my family medicine residency at the end of June.  Before I start my "real job" in Conway, I think it'll be time for a little vacation.  A three month vacation to be exact.

On July 2, 2011, I'm heading out on a quest to visit every ballpark in Major League Baseball.  My first park visit will be to Minute Maid Park in Houston on July 3rd.  I'll end the trip on September 25th at Busch Stadium in St. Louis...my baseball home.

The trip will consist of more than just baseball.  There are just too many places along the way to just pass them by.  The first excursion will be to Arches National Park in Utah--I've got to do something besides just drive straight from Dallas to Los Angeles.  I'll spend several days in Phoenix for the All-Star Game.  I'll even be taking my board certification exam during the trip (the only serious thing I'll do).  There will be a week in Yosemite, which will hopefully include a climb up Half Dome.  There's the Pacific Coast Highway.  A cruise up the Oregon Coast (who needs the interstate?).  A climb up some of Mount Rainier.  The Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa (I've got to get a copy of the plans so I can build my house).  10 days in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the Little League World Series (if I can't play, I can at least watch).  Cooperstown (I can't remember what is there).

There will be plenty of time for baseball and I'll just happen to catch some of the big rivalries:  Dodgers/Gaints, Yankees/Red Sox (I got my ticket for 25 bucks!), and Cardinals/Cubs (this ticket is free--I assume because the Cubs don't qualify as a Major League Baseball team).

See the Agenda for day-to-day details!  My plan is to keep the blog updated regularly once the trip starts, complete with video and photos.
