Another full day.  I did take my time getting over to the fields today, as I wasn't feeling 100%.  Sore throat, body aches...some sort of viral prodrome.  I found my Mobic to help but couldn't track down all that expired Tylenol I have.  Saw three games.  The last being the closest...Japan v. Mexico, with Mexico squeaking out the victory.  I didn't stay to the bitter end, though.  During the second game, I sat next to an older couple from San Angelo, Texas.  They are working on their "Bucket List", and the husband always wanted to come here.  The wife said his health is getting worse so they want to get as much done as they can.  Last year, she said they drove to the tip of Key West "just 'cuz I wanted to".  The husband said he was 2 games away from getting to the 1960 Little League World Series, and they even had a 50 year reunion for that baseball team last year...crazy!  When you sit down for these games, you are usually there 1-2 hours before the game, so you can't help but play "get to know your neighbor".  The guy was also excited about the hot dog because they've talked about it on TV for years.  He was so excited that he had to take a picture of it to send to his son!  I was dying, so I took out my phone and showed them my hot dog pictures.  Surely, you're laughing by now.  The guy who sat to my right at that same game kept having a discussion with the guy next to him about the baseball.  "It must be made of rubber."  "Or cork".  "Is it a softball?"  Huh?  It's a baseball.  A Spalding ball at that...the first maker of baseballs.  That game ended 3-1 after 6, and he concluded the game ended because of a mercy rule.  Wrong again.  This is Little League.  Six Innings.  A real baseball.

At breakfast this morning, I met a lady who is from Warner Robins, Georgia.  They have a team here.  I asked if she had a kid in the tournament.  She doesn't.  She's with the local paper.  How cool is that?  She gets preferred parking, a guaranteed good seat at every game, expenses paid, all while getting paid...and all she has to do is write about the games and the experience!  Based on a google search, I've decided her name is Angela Woolen with The Telegraph out of Macon, GA.  Kinda creepy that it took me about 6 seconds to figure that out.  Click here for their Little League coverage.  This same Little League won the series in 2007 and were in the U.S. semis in 2009.  That's impressive.

In the gift shop yesterday, I had a hard time finding a hat I wanted but knew I wanted one.  For the last number of years, I've been after low-profile hats and have bent the bill.  Now, everyone wears a big hat and a flat bill.  I decided it was time to change--if Matt Holliday can wear a flat bill and make $112 million, why can't I?  So, I got the New Era hat and wore a flat bill today.  I swear it makes me look 10 years younger...here's to being 21 again!  Plus, my sunglasses fit under the bill much easier.

All for now.  Five games on the docket for tomorrow!  I've seen people carrying an inflatable Spalding-sponsored baseball donut for sitting in the bleachers.  I've got to find one because sitting on my fleece isn't cutting it anymore.
