I am exhausted. Up at 6AM Eastern to get out of Lafayette to go to Cincinnati. I get 20 miles out of town and the interstate is closed. Shut down. Not movin'. Turned my 3 hour casual drive into a 5 hour whirlwind tour of the backroads of Indiana. Instead of getting to the park early per usual, I got there 30 minutes before first pitch. Better believe I was sweatin' bullets. I don't show up the Busch that late, and I'm there all the time. While sitting on the interstate, I already had a date picked out to come back next month because I didn't think I was going to make it. The FJ could have made it through the median but the cops were everywhere. Nice weather at the game, and Brandon Phillips didn't play, so that was good. Made the drive back up through Chicago to Milwaukee and am at a B&B for a couple nights. I feel at home and there is a cookie jar full of homemade chocolate chip cookies--no limit! I plan on doing just about nothing tomorrow until it's time to go over to Miller Park to root for a Pirate victory over the Brewers. Cards win tonight, so maybe we can get back on track. Will hopefully get Wrigley and Great American up tomorrow.
